Why we attend to health
Illness interrupts everything else the Ministry is attempting. A sponsored child cannot hold a place in class while sick, and a household loses its footing when a working parent falls ill. Elderly members of our communities carry chronic conditions for years with very little support available to them.
Health care is one of the six core areas of Mayuge Hope Ministries, and it is carried out through partnership with health service facilities rather than through provision by the Ministry alone.
Who the programme serves
Care is delivered in company with health agencies who bring clinical capacity the Ministry does not hold. Our part is access, identification, follow up, and the sustained relationship with a household that makes treatment possible.

What we provide to the health & Nutrition programme
Access to health services
The Ministry provides resources that foster access to quality and affordable health services, through partnership with different health service facilities.
Community health sensitisation
We sensitise people on health issues so that households recognise illness early and know where to seek care.
Support for the girl child
Girls receive basic health needs including sanitary products, so that health does not keep a girl out of the classroom.
Care for chronic illness
Elderly members of our communities receive medical care for chronic conditions including blood pressure and diabetes.
Mobility and sight
Reading glasses, wheelchairs, and crutches are provided to those whose independence depends on them.
Nutrition and psychosocial support
Food and nutrition support is provided alongside psychosocial care, and we assist in improving housing conditions where the need is greatest.
Support the care of a vulnerable household
If you are willing to carry the cost of care for an elderly neighbour, a child in school, or a household under strain, you are invited to write to the Ministry.
